How Music Came In  My Life

Music is like a remedy to me. It puts me in a happy place and always helps me relax. I can not imagine a day without listening to any music. It actually helps define a different side of me. I was introduced to music at a very tender age by my Father and Mother. My father was a fan of legends like the late Bob Marley, Lucky Dube and the living legend, our very own Oliver Mtukudzi. My mother was a very exotic when it came to her taste of music. From the likes of Mariah Carey, Michael Bolton, Toni Braxton, Michael Jackson and others.

I was taught not to just listen to the beat but understand the lyrics, the idea of the song. From there onwards, music was part of my life ever since. Music helps me go through the day. It picks me up from my darkest places in life and just lifts me up. I listen to all types of genres, Electronic Dance Music being my favorite genre. I fell in love with this genre sometime back in 2015. That’s when I got to understand that there is more to the song than just the lyrics.

Music is like that soulmate to me, that one soulmate that never lets me down, that knows what I want to hear all the time. I can never live without music because it is now part of me. The best part of music is that it is universal. It brings people together, regardless of where you come from or who you are. Music gives me a piece of mind…
