It is finally happening. The night that is proving to be on of the greatest events on the Zim Hip Hop calendar is officially here. Mumhanzi Night started as an idea to promote Hip Hop artists under the Mumhanzi brand with a few artists to support it. After sharing the idea with a vast amount of people, a lot of Hip Hop artists have taken an interest in making this one of the biggest night in the country.The purpose of this event is to bring a lot of people from all age group to come and love as well as appreciate Hip Hop as a culture. It is also to create a Platform for growth for the artists as well as create connections with various stakeholders who will be present. This awesome show is going to be headlined by artists like KikkyBadass, Crooger, Marcuques , R Peels, Tulk Munny, MC Chita, just to mention a few. The even will be action packed. This is all going to happen at the Theater in the Park on the 23rd of November. We plan to have this event ever month so this is going to be a monthly event on the Mumhanzi Media calendar. Kikky Badass is one of the most prominent female voices on the local HipHop scene currently on a career high after the release of her Mambokadzi EP. No stranger to controversy the feisty femcee who maintains she is misunderstood dropped her “Queen Of The South” project last year which saw her sweep awards galore at the ZimHipHop Awards.She has previously performed at various Changamire HipHop Festivals and ZimHipHop Awards as well as night spots across the capital.
Born Chitarisiro Chiketa 35 years ago in Russia Mc Chita is veteran in ZimHipHop circles having released music commercially as far back as 2003.He boasts of a large discography that includes two mixtapes,over five albums and big songs such as Dandaro,Uptown Tsotsi,One More Second and No Dhiri to name but a few.He was performed at Lake July Festival,HIFA,Shoko alongside the likes of Proverb,Bongo Maffin and Sean Kingston and has numerous awards under his belt.Help us welcome this great Talent to Mumhanzi Nights
Chitungwiza native Crooger has been having a spectacular 2018 that saw him drop viral singles featuring the likes of Jnr Brown,Stunner and Briss Mbada before dropping his second studio album Shumba Inoruma.The Mabroke Niggaz hitmaker has found a balance between melodies & rap delivering the fusion in his mother tongue a decision that seems to be paying dividends if fan love is anything to judge by.He brings experiences on various stages in South Africa and Zimbabwe to Mumhanzi Night so do grab his album and sing along when Shumba Nyamuzihwa takes to the stage
Tulk Munny is a ZimHipHop mainstay who boasts of an incredible discography that includes the critically acclaimed,award winning ChepaJecha album, KuPlaza album with Majestic and Gwanda Rules with Take Fizzo.Having cut his teeth at Chipawo when he was a kid Tulk is no stranger to the stage having delivered high energy perfomances on stages like HIFA,Shoko Festival among others.
Mwana WaPharaoh head honcho R Peels is one of the most outspoken young voices on the scene so confident of his own dopeness he doesn’t hesitate to rub it in would be naysayers’s faces.Having dropped a critically acclaimed mixtape in his teenage years,R Peels also has an EP plus two solid albums under his belt which should cater for different palates when he hits the Mumhanzi Nights stage.
Marcques from his days at Rehab where he dropped his most popular track to date “Zunguza” all the way to VERYUS where he dropped his debut album “ALYVE” Marcques has been consistently putting in work over the years.Catch him at Mumhanzi Nights as he brings over a half decade of experience in the Music Industry plus a plethora of bangers to the stage.
Award winning producer Fun F cut his teeth at Big Shots before leaving to form his own imprint Its Nation.While he is known for making mean beats for Zim Hip Hop royalty he is an accomplished artist in his own right with a knack for killing choruses and verses in his signature trappy flow.It remains to be seen if the man behind the impressive Good Ass Job album will hit the Mumhanzi Nights stage solo or maybe just maybe he might bring some of his talented peers with for a memorable performance.
Scrip Mula to the Mumhanzi Nights stage.The Chitungwiza born rapper has found a balance between a trappy sound that has words and content to match leading to radio success with tracks like Inyanga,Christopher Columbus and Svoto. He is the head honcho at HipHop supergroup Mula Nation and he has made it a signature trait of his to drop fire visuals (his Horror video alongside his Mula Nation brothers is a clear testament to that).He has been nominated for the Zim Hip Hop Awards and won 2 CMELA awards besides performing on those platforms as well.
